POLITICAL FUSION.

THE CONFERENCE TO-DAY. ANNOUNCEMENT OF PERSONNEL. REFORMERS TO REPORT BACK. B, Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The committee representing the Reform and Liberal Parties will meet in Wellington to-morrow to consider the fusion question. The delegates will be: Reform Party.—Messrs O. Hawken (Egmont), J. A. Young (Hamilton), T. D. Burnett (Temukat, and W. J. Girling (Wairau). Liberal Party.—'Messrs G. Forbes (Hurunui), W. A. Veitch (Wanganui), R. Masters (Stratford), and A. J. Murdock (Marsden). In announcing the Reform committee the Hon. A. D. McLeod said the names suggested by the Prime Minister (the Hon. J. G. Coates) made the committee as representative of the Dominion as possible. There were two from each island, and each island had one country and one town representative. The Reform delegates go to the conference tied in no way as to their line of action, with the reservation that nothing can be decided till after the committee reports to the Reform caucus. This condition was imposed by the caucus when the subject of fusion was mentioned on the occasion of the meeting which elected Mr. Coates as leader of the party. The Liberal representatives were all in Wellington to-day. The Reform representatives are either in the city or are on their way to it. The meeting will take place at 2.-50 p.m. in the Attorney-General’s room.
