MPBELL—DAVIS. A quiet but pretty wedding was sol* emnised at the residence of the bride’s parents, when Mi&s Edith Davis, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Davis. Tynwald Hill, Waverley, was married to Mr. Norman Campbell, third son of Mrs. R. Campbell, Willow Bank, Waverley. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty frock of ivory crepe de chine, -draped at one side with a panel ornament. A beautiful handworked tulle veil fell gracefully from a coronet of orange blossoms. The bride carried a beautiful shower bouquet of cosmos, michaelmas daisies and roses. The bridesmaids, Miss Davis (sister of _ the bride) and Miss Ritchie, were attired fii blue-shot taffeta and georgette, with bandeaux of blue flower© and autumn leaves. Each bridesmaid carried a sheaf of .bronze dahlias and autumn leave©. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. R. J. Davis as best man. After the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. Dabourne, the guests were entertained in the dining-room, which was most tastefully decorated by Mrs. Percy Wallace and Miss C. Ritchie, who also made the bridal bouquets. A wedding of considerable interest took place on April 1, 1925, at St. Paul’s Church, Normanby. when Miss Alms Sowersby, only daughter of Mrs. W. F. Mantle, New Plymouth, was married to Mr. Ashley Harcourt Hills, son of th© late Benjamin Hills, Canterbury. The church was tastefully decorated by the girl friends of the bride. The Rev. H. \V. Monaghan officiated, and Miss Elsie Laurent presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. L. G. Sowerby, looked dainty in a frock of ivory crepe d© chine, finished with silver. The beautiful tulle veil was held in place with orange blossom©, and hung gracefully to form the train. Miss Norah Lloyd, as bridesmaid, looked dainty in palest blue georgette over pal® blue sflk, witM black picture hat.. Both carried beautil ful bouquets to tone. Little Laurent looked ©weet as flower girl la pale blue crepe de chine, and carried • basket of pale pink ©weet peas. Mr. R. 0. Hills, Christchurch, brother of tht bridegroom, acted as best man. Later the young couple left by for Auckland. On the eve of her marrlaga Mini Sowerby, who was organist in St. Paul’* Church, was presented with a silver tea sei-vice, and wtua also entertained at • “novelty” tea« • .
