The f ICars MOTORING UNDER IDEAL CONDITIONS! A trip was undertaken in a 15-30 Crossley Saloon. The party of five and luggage left Dunedin on Sunday, March 29, for Matakanui, Ln the Wakatipu County. The distance travelled was 285 milee, and the rout* taken was through Mosgiel-Ou tram-Woodside, thenoe through to Clark’s via Deep Stream, then on to Middlemareh, Rock and Pillar, Hyde, Kokonga-Ranfuriy-Wedderburn, Oturehua-Becks Matakanui. The return trip was via Blackstone Hill-Kyburn-Green V alley-Wftihemf-Palmerston and Walkouaiti. Throughout the trip the roads were very rough, and the hilts negotiated were exceptionally steep, and in some parts clay tracks were enoouiwtered; these were greasy owing to heavy rains which fell the day previous. Taking these facts into consideration this car put up a wonderful performance, and on all occasions had ample reserve power $ the average speed maintained was 24 miles per hour. The petrol ooaSUmptiOD was 10 gallons for the total distance of 285 miles. CROSSLEY DEPOT: 38 Waring Taylor Street Wellington
