STRATFORD’S NEGLECTED CEMETERY.

(To the Editor.) Sir.—I have been wondering for some c< ••siderable time past if tlie Stratford Borough Council controls the Stratford Town Cemetery, as its neglected state is an absolute disgrace to any controlling body. There is a lot of talk about beautifying the town. I hope some of the n<>\V members of the council will take this matter up, and put the town cemetery in a decent state of order, and do some of the beatuifying there—as the paths, groves and grounds at present arc a jungle of fern and all descriptions of noxious weeds. After visiting the cemeteries of neighbouring towns, it is not a very pleasant sight to look upon our old cemetery, where many of the pioneers of this district and town have found their last resting place. There Ms not even a fastening on the pedestrians’ gate, and cattle can stray in at leisure.—l am, etc., A RESIDENT. Stratford, May 9.
