MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

SITTING AT MANAIA. (From Our Own Reporter.) Hawera, May 11. A Bitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held at Manaia to-day, Mr. A. M. Mowlem, S.M. presiding. Before the cases were called Mr. Mowlem adjourned the court for five -minutes out of respect to the late Prime Minister, and stated that he would not hear any defended cases. Counsel agreed that all defended <«ses should be adjourned to the next sitting of the court on June 8

Judgment for plaintiff by default for the amounts indicated was given in the following undefended cases:—Smith and Oaughey V. E. W. Taylor, £6 Ils fid (costs £1 Ids 6d); M. A. Ryan v. F. E. Lovelock, £97 10s (£8); A. S. Bailey v. W. McDonald, costs ss; 8. E. and E. Young v. E. Davidson, £ll 14s ( £3 4s); H. E. Sutton v. L. Reardon, £lO (£2 Is); L. 8. Nielson and Nuku Taruwhiti, £4 5s (£1 10s 6d); same v. Mere Tuki Wharuangi, £4 13s (£1 3s 6d); C. Hunger v. H. A. Julian, £23 fis 5d (£4); Kota Pini v. Te Awa Pipi, £4 10s ( £1 15s 6d). At the suit of J. S. MeKay, Te Eua (George Epai) was ordered to pay the sum of £B6 la lid within one month, in default two months’ imprisonment.

On a judgment summons E. Avery was ordered to pay Jeromson Bros, the sum of £2O Us Id within one month, in default 21 days’ imprisonment.
