Jusser•nd) states that France, after a moratorium for a breathing spell, can and will begin the repayment of her war debt to the United States, but France expects preferential treatment as compared with the term* the United States grants%o other war debtor nations lyecause France suffered the greatest loss of life and blood and the greatest comparatively in fortune. Finally France was the battleground. He spoke vigorously of France’s 'det*rminatior. to hurl back Communism. “We are a steady nation,’’ he said. “The soul of the French Revolution is not the soul of modern France. There are no centuries of abuse to give rise to a Red there to-dav.”
