M.P.’S ON RAILWAYS.
FREE PASSES FOR LIFE. NEW SOUTH WALES DISPUTE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Dec. 19. The two Houses of the State Parliament got at loggerheads over a clause in the Railways Bill, which provided that members who had served in three complete Parliaments should receive a a free gold railway pass for life. The Cabinet Ministers were not unanimous on the question, but members of the Assembly naturally favoured the proposal, and sent it along to the Council. The councillors were opposed to the scheme and promptly sent the Bill back with the clause deleted. The As* sembly indignantly restored the clause and sent it back to tne council, which decided to insist on the deletion. The Assembly, though still indignant, swablowed the snub aud accepted the de* let ion.
