TARANAKI LAND BOARD.

THE MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki La ml Board was held on Wednesday and Thursday. Present: Messrs. W. D. Armit (chairman), S. Blake, C. J. Ryan, N. R. Cleland, and <l. W. 11. Martin. The following applications for land were approved: Section 11, block V., Aria, M. T. Canty; sections 43 and 44, block HL, Whangamomona township, W. F. Pellett.

The following transfers were approved: Sulb-section 59 of section 1, Ohawe town belt, A. H. Sorenson to E. J. Sage; section 580, town of New Plymouth, W. H. Luscom'be to L. G. Andrews; section 3, block 111.. Aria, F. W. C. Bredenbeek to A. W. Robbins; section F, town of New Plymouth, H. Petersen to A. Sykes.

The application to transfer section 36, block XV., Ngaire, from T. N. Jenkins to M. P. O’Connor, was refused.

Permission to erect dwellings on their E.R. leases were granted to Messrs. 11. E. Robinson and H. Petersen.

An application by Mr. C. Carter for permission to subdivide his E.R. leases over lots C, E and G of part section W, and sections 1232 and 1233, 1216 and 1217, town belt of New Plymouth, was approved; rentals to be adjusted. Proposals for expenditure of “thirds” by the Ohura, Whangamomona, Waitomo, and Patea County Councils were approved. Twenty-five applications under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act were considered, and of these seven applications for current account advances were recommended, three deferred and one refused; one application to transfer was recommended.
