TE AROHA SCHOOL.
CONCERT AND PRIZE-GIVING,
AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION. The breaking-up and prize-giving ceremony in connection with Miss Menzie’s Te Arolia School took place in the school room last night. The occasion was marked by a very successful concert, given by the pupils of the school. The function was well attended by parents and friends.
The Rev. O. Blundell, who presided, extended a hearty welcome to the visitors, saying he was very pleased to see such a good attendance. The following concert programme was then proceeded with:—Play, “Soo-t and the Fairies,” the principal parta being acted by Mona Smart (Queen Lily), Betty Keeling (Dr. Sunlight), Margaret Fraaer (Capt. Soot); song, “On the Road to Anywhere” (Barabara Blackley); recitation, “The Land of Story Books” (Teddy Munro); song, “Night Nursery” (Winsome Clarke); recitation, “When Burglars came to Our House” (Kura Clarke); song, “Look for the Silver Lining” (Christine Chaney, Winsome Clarke, Jean Smith, Phyllie Morgan. Barbara Blackley, Joan Anderson); recitation. “A Laugh in Church” (Margaret Fraser); recitation, “Seuso'Ma” (Zoe Featherstone, Christine Chaney, Betty George, Betty Keeling); song, “Lillie Tree” (Joan Cre.sswell. Chris Cine Chaney, Winsome Clarke, Joan Anderson, Barbara Blackley. Phyllis Morgan) ; reaitatloj*. “If 1 Were a King” (Teddy Munro, Leila Robertson, Joan Anderson) ; song,
“Fairies at the Bottom of Our Garden” (twelve girls); recitation, *‘Our Baby*’ (Phyllis Morgan, Cath Fraser); song, “Alice Blue Gown” (Mona Smart); song. “Dream Man” -(pupils).
All the items were well rendered and were greeted with rounds of applause. All the performers were arrayed . In beautiful costumes of every hue and design, and played their parts faultlessly. Mrs. Blundell, who was the recipient of, a beautiful Bouquet, presented by Zoe Featherstone on behalf of the pupils for the esteem in which she was held, then presented the following prizes:

All the children in the lower. classes received books. -
During the evening presentation# made to Miss Menzies, by Margaret Fraser on behalf of the pupils, and to the. accompanist (Miss Hodson) .By, Phyllis Morgan, also oh behalf of the ptipils. An enjoyable evening was brotiglif to a close by the singing of the \»ttionai Anthem.
