GAOL FOR COMMUNISTS.
BOOK.OF VIOLENCE SOLD. CASE AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland. Last Night. Two local Communists, Oswald beau and Evan John. Thomas, were sei*, tenced to of imprisonment by Mr. J. W. Poyntun, S.M., at the PoliceCourt to-day oil ulrarges of selling a book entitled, “Thtf A.B.C. of Communism,” a book which encouraged violenceand lawlessness. Bourbeau.appeared on two charges, while Thdfnas was charged with one information- ‘only. “The book is a long- sustained shriek of the usual Bolshevik pitch,” said Mr. Poynton. "It might have been written by a homicidal nianiac, so many are its incitements to Violence and threats of massacre.” Bourbeau was sentenced to threemonths’ gaol and Thtemas, who had previously been fined £25, to two months* gaol.
