In the House of Commons Sir Cupliffe Lister (President . of the Board of Trade) stated that licenses were issued last year for the expert of war material to the Soviet, including six hundred Vickers machine-guns. TMie bulk of the material was shipped late in the. spring and summer. The present Government does not intend to issue licenses for the export of war material to this destination.
The lobby correspondent of the Daily Express. reports that Labour ex-Minis-ters state that only limited authority was/ given for export to Russia from private sources.. No surplus war stocks were sent by the Labpur Government to Russia. On the contrary, it had made a decision against sending such surplus abroad.
