OPENING OF TIMARU SALES. THE RANGE OF PRICES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Timfiru, Last Night. The first wool sale of the season opeaed here to-night before a full bench of buyers. Top price was 343 d for eight bales of super half-bred. Prices were down by 3d on the first Christchurch sale and Id down on the recent Wellington sale. The range of prices up to midnight was: Medium merino, 27d to 30iid; low merino, 25d to 26Ad. Super half-bred, 29d to 343 d, half-bred, 27d to 29d; medium, 24d to 26}d. First half-bred pieces, 214 d to 27d; seconds, 19d to 21d. First Corriedale hogget, 28d to 33d; medium do., 25d to 27-ld. Super three-quarter bred, 25 Vo 27Ad; three-quarter bred, 22d to 24Ad; medium three-quarter bred, 20d to low threequarter bred, 19d to 20!d. First pieces, 17d to 20d; second pieces, 154 d to 16Ad.
Three-quarter hogget, 234 d to 263 d. Dead wool, first, 20Ad to 263 d; second dead wool, 18d to 29Ad.
Half-bred bellies, 22Ad to 26d; crossbred bellies, 16d to 17 Jd; black, 15d to 173 d.
Fine crutchings, 163 d to 203 d; coarse crutchings, 13d to 15d. Half-bred locks, un to 14 Ad; crossbred locks, lid to 13d. Stained pieces, up to 13d.
