MEETING OF NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB The monthly meeting of the committee of the New Plymouth Club was held on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs. C. Carter (president), W. Taylor, J. R. Hill, M. G. Nasmith, A. E. Washer, C. N. Johnson, A. Patrick, A. N. Smith (treasurer) and H. E. Fookes (hon. sec.) A financial statement was made by the treasurer, which was considxed very satisfactory. Sub-committees were appointed to collect outstanding subscriptions. It was reported that several members of the club were not observing the strict etiquette of the game, and it was resolved that the duties appertaining to their relative positions be stressed by the skips and numbers three to the remaining members of the rinks. The green warden reported that the Leech Street green was not in too satisfactory a condition, and would doubtless require considerable expenditure to put it in proper order. It was resolved to defer action in the matter at present. Considerable discussion ensued relative to the holding of the Veterans’ Day. It was resolved that February 7 be the day set apart for the fixture, that the game be confined to'the veterans over 60, and that nominations be invited from all Clubs in the Centre. It was further resolved that the presidents of the town clubs be invited to meet and make all arrangements for the gathering. It was the desire of the New Plymouth Chib that the fixture shall talfe place on a New Plymouth green, the members of the committee being averse to splitting up the games over the various greens which would spoil the social effect of the gathering.
