SECONDARY SCHOOLS.
AMALGAMATION SCHEME. NEW PLYMOUTH PROPOSAI.S. NEGOTIATIONS PROGRESSING. The proposed amalgamation of the N6w Plymouth High Schools and the New Plymouth Technical College was referred to at the college breaking-up ceremony last night by Mr. P. J. H. White, chairman of the College Board, of Managers. Mr. White said that the position was that the governing bodies of the schools and the college were in agreement as to what should be done and the subject was now a matter for further conversation between the department and the boards. They were'hopeful that something more would be done this week, when representatives of the two boards would meet Dr. E. Marsden. AssistantDirector of Education, to go into the proposals further. Stressing the value and need of facilities for vocational training, Mr. White said t/hat when the amalgamation was accomplished these facilities would still be available.
