GOVERNMENT MA KI NG. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Dec. 1-5. The Berlin correspondent of The Times says that Herr Maix, the Chancellor. has definitely given up negotiations with the various parties in regard to the formation of a new Government, and the initiative now passes into the bands of Herr Ebert, the President, and Herr •Stresemann, Foreign Minister, to form a Government. IHerr Stresemann, who is suffering from a chill, i.s at present in a sanatorium, 'but is expected to return to ‘Berlin on the 17th.
