TARANAKI STOCK MARKET. Messrs Newton King, Ltd., report : At Unit! saleyards on December 15 we conducted a clearing sale of sheep and cattle on’ behalf -of Messrs. Larsen Bros. The attendance -of buyers, as was anticipated, was exceptionally large and the sade, espcciaily for sheep, keenly contested t'hroughouit. The South Taranaki buyers competed • spiritedly but were not successful in purchasing the whole of the stock being secured by Iceal buyers. Quotations were a* follow (all sheep shorn with the exception of ianubs) :—2-vooth wethers, 28s 5d to 31s 2d: store and forward wethers, 33s . 9d to 355; -fat. and forward wethers, 37s 9d; 2 and 4-tcoth ewes, 30s to 325; mixed age ewes, empty, 29s sd: fat and forward ewes, 29s 6d; ewes with iambs (100 per cent, and over), £2 to £2 6s 6d; do., with smaller percentages, 36s 3d to 39s 3d; small yearling steers, £2 Is; do., £4 12s; 5-year old bullocks, £B. 12s 6d: 2-year ■old empty’'heifers', £2 6s 6d to £2 10s: ordinary yearling do., 30s to £2; 15-month Holstein heifers, up to £2 Is; dairy cgws, up to £7 53
