Members of the shipping labour bureau decided to send a deputation to Cabinet to ask for an assurance that the Government will stand behind rhem in their fight for the retention of preference on the waterfront.

In the Assembly Sir George Fuller stated that he regretted that the Shipping Labour Bureau was to disappear, but he would see that preference under the Act was granted to returned sailor anj soldier wharf labourers.
