FRANCE AND BRITAIN.

Le Journal states that in the course of conversation with M. elemental, Minister for Finance, yesterday, Mr. Chamberlain stated that the British Government would reserve its decision in regard to the Geneva protocol until the Dominions had been consulted. M. elemental declared that France had no intention of settling her debts with America without consulting Britain.
