The last working bee of the Beaut!* ■fying Society for this season took plac4 on Saturday. The weather was favourable, but the attendance not what was expected, only two volunteers and the president; with six* on wages. Two workers were employed on Baines’ Terrace and the others on the. municipal grounds between the electrical works and the Carrington Road. Excellent work was done in both localities. The party was entertained at afternoon tea by Mrs. Cresswell, at her residence, Carrington Road. The work of the society on the terrace and on. the slopes between the Carrington Road and the Huatoki is now showing to advantage. Much annoyance is, however,, ..inflicted owing to the injury caused to the agapanthus by some mischievous persons cutting off the blooms as they develop, thus spoiling a whole year’s work. T.
