SAVING TIME AND MONEY,
An announcement that Cabinet has agreed to begin work on the Singapore base has been made by the First Lord of the Admiralty (Mr. W. C. Bridgeman).
®y Telegraph—Press Assn.—Cepyright. Received Dec. 14, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 13. Speaking at Oswestry, Mr. W. C. Bridgeman (First Lord of the Admiralty) rtated that Cabinet had agreed to allow him to start upon the Singapore base. It was most essential, he eaid, that if Britain had to rely on its present smaller navy she should have a base where capital ships could be repaired instead of having to come home to do so, thus wasting time and money.
