WINTER SHOW COAH'ANY. GOOD FINANCIAL POSITION. THE ANNUAL AIEETTNG. (From Our Own Reporter.) Hawera, Dec. 12. At the annual meeting of -the South Taranaki Whiter Show Company, Ltd., yesterday, Air. J. R. Corrigan, M.P., presided over a good attendance of share-' holders. In moving the adoption of the annual report (already published/ All. Corrigan referred tc- tne very successful year enjoyed by -the show, and the general support given by the people of the district. He stressed the necessity this year of creating special interesit in view of the fact that the annual meeting of the N.D.A. was to be held in Hawera. during the next show week. Referring to the great demand for space at the last show, Air. Corrigan said the demand was beyond the power of the present show to supply. These remarks were endorsed by other shareholders. >» The balance-sheet disclosed a very sound financial position. 'Show and rent profits totalled £1754 Os s<l. As depreciation £49'6 5s ‘2d was written off. and after the deduction of other expenses, the profit from the comp my point of view was £l2l 2s 6d. This amount was placed to the reserve account, wliich now totals £3042 17s 7d, or about half of the paid up capital. The report and balance-sheet were adopted.

The retiring directors were Alessrs D. J. Gcodvvin, J. R. 'Corrigan, ALP., and E. C. Barleyman, all of whom were reelected. Air. C. H. Suisted was re-appointed audi'tcr. and Mr. D. J. 'Goodwin treasurer On the motion of Mr. A. G. Dunean (on behalf of the Hawera Dairy Co.) the directors, manage? and staff were accorded a very hearty vote of thanks for their services durin'g the year. Air. D. -I. Goodwin was given a hearty welcome hejne by the chairman, this being Mr. ‘Goodwin’s first meeting since' iiis tour abroad. At a subsequent meeting of directors, Mr. J. K. Corrigan was re-elected < hairman of directors for the ensuing year. The N. I\. J. Rennet Company offered a keg trophy for competition in the cheese ••ection. The 'competition will be open to all dairy factories for the best case of white or'coloured cheese,

suitable for < xport and ni.tde with N.K.J. renndt. Th addition cash prizes will be paid to the manager of the winning factory — t'7 10s as first prize and £2 10s as second prize. The keg will be offered for competition at other shows and the winner will each ’/car be the factory gaining the highest number cf points at any of the shows where the competition is held. The keg. to be won cutright, must be competed for at the same show each year and will be-

come the .property cf the company winning the competition two years in succession or three years at interval's. In the ’ event of two or mere factories gaining the same number of .points the factory gaining the highest aggregate for two consecutive years, or for three or more years if necessary at intervals, will be the winner of the trophy.
