FIRST ROYAL SHOW.
Of great interest, to trotting enthusiasts is the allocation of the sum of of £lOO donated by the New Zealand Trotting Association to provide classes for trotting and pacing stalliona, mares and geldings. These are divided into four Royal classes, which have been supplemented by two other classes provided by the Manawatu and West A. and P. Association, subsidised by the Manawatu Trotting Club to the extent of £22. These liberal prizes should attract the best in the Dominion in view of an arrangement providing for a trotting exhibition in the ring daily during the show, commencing at 1 p.m. There is a slight error in the prize schedule, which states that first placed horses in the Manawatu classes cannot compete in the Royal classes. Thia is wrong, and should read the other way round. Any owner of trotters or pacers should obtain a prize schedule from the joint secretaries, Box 85, Palmerston North, at once, as entries for these classes close on October 11.
