An inquest was held to-dty concern-' (ng the death of Maurice Rohlin, whn nljot himself after wounding Mrs. Aim* Fennell. Evidence was given that deceased was »n Englishman, who w.ta attnehed to the Indian nrmy »r'vr4 during the war in East Africa and Mesopotamia. A letter was found among his belongings from the Imperial Pensions Office, dated Jnwe, 1 |X>3 asking him to call for £OOO, (h* halnnee of hw gratuity money. The chief witness, Mrs. Alma Fa»e"'l. who is still suffering from her .vmimi. stated that Roblin was a friand of her* and of her sisters. He usad to visit them almost daily and take her oat. Sometimes he asked her to marry -lira, but she told him she was married. U> to that time he had known her by he» maiden name. He still continued to visit them. A few months ago he told tb»re he had lost everything, and since then he bad been very depressed and drank a lot. She and her elaters helped him in manv wavs. She could not understand his shooting her. as they were friendly up to the very last.
