Yesterday farmers could gel £5 10s on trucks, to-day £5 is the limit of offers and the f.o.b. sacks in value is £6 10s a ton. The Navua yesterday took up to 2000 sacks for Auckland and wHh the Wiagatui's previous small consignment requirements jvould be very lightly provided fpr in the northern city. The Kawatiri is shout to leave Melbourne with a consignment of ovex 600 tons and this should supply wants in Auckland until the end of the first week In October. ■Cowgrass is in brisk demand for good quality fvr the home market at up to lOd a lb. to fawners. Most of the seed offering, however, is not o£ first-class Quality. Ryegrass is attracting notice and the tendency is to ease. At 8s 6d a bushel for dtesaed seed it has l been a dear article In comparison with other stuff. I White clover is worth Is 4d to is 6d for [ been sold. The dry spring is llkriy to good quaiity, but most otf this ciass has shorten this crop for the ensuing season and a moist September is regarded as necessary for good white clover crops. Danish cocksfoot has advanced by approximately 20s a cwt. this past few weeks, but there is no locai movement. Merchants hold good stacks of last season’s Peninsula cocksfoot bought at high prices. The -closing up of paddocks tor the ensuing crop has been delayed this year on account of a shortage of feed for - dairy stock, x but good October mlns generally ensure favourable results. i Chaff is in very keen demand, there being ft brisk inquiry from South Canterbury and Otago.
