NAPIER ARTESIAN BORE.
A SPLENDID SUPPLY. By Telegraph.—Press Assoclat’on. Napier, <9ept. 26. An art/alan bore 8 inches in alameter, Just sunk, in Napier, is giving remarkable results. A slotted pipe down to a depth of between 242 and 255 feet is producing a flow of 720 gaMons a minute, over a million daily, which is equivalent to the present supply from 8-inch bores, thus doubling the Napier water and assuring no more trouble with shortages during the dry summer months. Two further 8-inch bores will be sunk by the contractor, so that the supply will more than meet requirements for many years to come. The flow' obtained is probably the best artesian supply from thia sized bore in the Dominion.
