A blood bay in colour, standing over 16 hands in height, and showing massiveness throughout, he Is yet a model of symmetry, smoothness and finish. In' short, he Is a true representative of the great family [to which he owes his descent, and is easily recognised as a typical scion of the famous 1 Musket family. Monoform, sire of Potoa. Is own brother to Multiform, who was only defeated once, and that by a stable-mate, proved himself a great racehorse, winning over all distances. In his first two years at the stud he sired Nightfail, Golden Lily, Isolt, Sungod, and the record-breaking Noctuiform. Multifid, another good son of Multiform, has proved a good sire; Chortle, Multiply,. and others claiming his parentage. Potoa’s pedigree runs strong to Eclipse (12), his own line. Of the sixteen sires represented tn the fifth remove, thirteen descend in tail male to Eclipse. Some of the winning horses sired by Potoa are: Poanuf (winner Great Northern Hurdle Race), Bute Sound. BALTHANGIE REFINER, foaled November, 1919, was bred by Mr. J. Paul, of Balthangle. Colour brown with white face and hind fetlocks. stands 17.3% hands high, on large flat bones, with big sound feet, and carries an abundance of fine silky feather. He is a big powerful active horse, with immense build, and possesses in a marked degree that combination of size and quality so eagerly sought for and so necessary to those breeding for the show-ring or the farm. He was examined by a Government Veterinary Surgeon February, 1924, and awarded a first class certificate for soundness. ROYAL FABRIC. is a splendidly grown colt, a rich brown. possessing plenty of bone, and splendid feet. A splendid tempered colt, he promises to develop into a worthy successor of his truly great sire, "Dunure Fabric.” This noted sire was looked upon as one of the greatest Clydesdales ever imported into the Dominion, and was one of the highest-priced horses exported from Scotland to New Zealand. At the break-up of the late Mr. J. Shearer’s Stud, this horse was retained by the estate for the high figure of 1000 guineas. From a breeder’s standpoint, there is nothing better bred in New Zealand than this colt, and when combined with size, quality and grand action, this colt is bound j to fill a long-felt want in Northern Taranaki.
