DARING MOTOR TESTS.
DOUBTS AS TO SKID THEORY. SOOROHDTCf OVER GLASS. London, Aug. 31. Does the sudden bursting of a tyre caiiise a motor to skid and overturn? The French newspaper L’ Auto, intends ensuring the irregular bursting of the correspondent of the Daily Mail, at Paris, and is arranging for destructive "h daring drivers, forcing cars equipped with old tyres at full speed over a road strewn with broken bottles, ensuring the irregular bursting of the tyres. The paper maintains. that a burst tyre only causes a car to slow down, and asserts that the frequent fatal overturnings attributed to that cause are actually the result of the driver becoming alarmed at the noise of the explofticm, and steering badly.
