Messrs. W. W. Thomson and J. Jemison have been nominated for the vacancy on the New Plymouth Borough Council Caused by the resignation of Mr. R. A. Large on his transfer to Wellington. An election will be held on Wednesday, September 24. Nominations closed at noon yesterday. Mr. Jemison was nominated by Messrs. R. Fulton.. W. Rodgers, A. J. Gay lard, J. TL Edwards, G. J. Blacker and R. J. Clarke. Mr. Thomson was nominated bv Messrs. W. Marr, R. J. Cock, J. R.' Hill, A. Ambury, H. M. Bacon, J. West, C. Francis and C. C. Lake. There will be two changes in the positions of polling booths. The booth at Wallace Place will be the garage on the children’s playground, and the Frankleigh Park booth will be located in the public hall.
