Mr. A. H. P. Moline, general manager of the new oil company, who has been visiting Wellington, has returned to New Plymouth. Mr. Roy Coutts, the well-known Inglewood footballer, was admitted to the New Plymouth public hospital on Friday suffering from an attack of diphtheria. Last night it was reported that he was making satisfactory progress. Mr. John Angus Dunning, B.Sc., has been selected by the professional board of the Auckland University College as the Auckland nominee for the Rhodes scholarship for this year. He was nominated last year. He is at present on the staff of the John McGlashan College at Dunedin. He has played for the Carisbrook Cricket Club and he is al*o an Otago representative hockey player, his club being Otago University.—Press Assn. Major-General C. W.
