By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following Government weather forecast was Issued at 4 p.m. today: "Present indications are for variable winds, moderate to. 1 strong north-easterlies prevailing northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and north-westerly to south-westerly elsewhere. The weather will, be dull and changeable generally, with showers, especially in the north-west, coast of southern district.*. The barometer has a falling tendency, but is likely to rise In the south after about ten hours."
