AIR FORCE INCREASED.

ESTIMATES £2,300.000 MORE.

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, March 7. The Air Force estimate is £14,511,000, an increase of £2/500,000.

The cost of the air force in Iraq and Palestine decreased over £1,300,000. Increase in the estimates was due to expansion of the home defence air force* the increase in the requirements of the navy and army, co-operation and replenishment of material. Eight new regular home defence squadrons will be completely formed, which will bring the number allotted for that purpose to 18 by April, 1025. The Estimates also provided for the initial equipment for six more squadrons which will be formed by 19&5-26. Air units working with the navy will be increased by five flights, and air units working with the home army will be increased by the equivalent of one squadron. The personnel will be increased by 2,000 to 35,000. No provision is made for development of airships, but the Government is considering the matter. The total air estimates must be expected to increase for some years, but unles* further expansion is imposed on Great Britain, a part of the increase will not be recurrent.
