PUBLIC NOTICE. J HAVE purchased the Oil, Colour, Glass, and Wallpaper Business lately owned by Mr. Osmond Le Page, and hope by strict attention to business to merit the public’s patronage. I have had* a very extensive experience 'in the Oil;and Colour Business, having just 1 relinquished a position in Auckland as j wallpaper manager for a very large concern there. New goods of all descriptions are now afloat and will be in early. The people of New Plymouth will now be able to secure the latest and best in everything appertaining to interior decoration, for my stocks will be as comprehensive as in the largest cities in New Zealand. Just recently the interior decorative artist for the firm of J. C. Williamson, Ltd., was making a selection of wallpapers for His Majesty’s Theatre, Auckland, and complimented me by saying my stock was the finest he had ever seen, and backed his statement by giving me an order for wallpapers for His Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne in addition to Auckland. I have secured the sole agency for Taranaki for Heffex Scotts, Shand Kydds and Griffin wallpapers. The former makers are the foremost in Great Britain and the latter are the aristocracy of America in the wallpaper business. The New Zealand attorney for the Wallpaper Manufacturers, Ltd. was recently at my home in Auckland and stated that if the lithograph designers for the decorative rooms could see my home they would want to take photos of them. „ People contemplating decorating of any kind will be well advised to consult me, for the treatment in wallpapers is the essential factor, and good papers are often spoilt by want of the correct, method of treatment. Panelling and styling are the latest methods and make the most charming rooms when properly carried out. In addition to Wallpapers, I will carry a full stock of Paints, Oils, Colours, Distempers, Brushes, Artists’ Materials, Sheet Glass, Plate and Fancy, Motor Screens Bevelled Mirrors, ec., etc. Knowing the world’s markets, I will sell the best goods only at prices that cannot be beaten. The Painting and Decorating Department will be carried on as previously, first-class work at a reasonable price being my slogan. All work will have my personal interest, and the supervision will be in the hands of the best man procurable.
