The Board of Trade, after a protracted inquiry, decided that the basic wage of £4 2s weekly, as fixed in September last, should remain unchanged. The position will be again considered by the board in June next. CHINESE FOR NAURU. Received March 7, 9.15 p.m. Sydney, March 7. Eighty Chinese have arrived from Hongkong, cn route to Nauru Island to work the phosphates there.
