LAWN TENNIS.
There can be no doubt that J. O. Anderson has caused a stir in tennis circles in Sydney. lie published a letter which he sent to the council prior to leaving for America. Tn the letter he pointed out that he would be unable to make trips in future—unless some alteration was made in the financial arrangement* for players. He feels that, as a result of hi* absence, his business suffers, and that he cannot go away again unless something is done to insure his business against loss. There is also another fly in the ointment, and that is that the firm of J. O. Anderson and Glover feels that the ground authorities and the Tennis Association do not put sufficient business through the firm. If this were done, the firm feels that it would, to some extent, neutralise the effect of Anderson’s absence. At present, there seems to be some doubt a* to whether Anderson has retired from interstate as well as international contests.
