It is reported from Santa Cruz, California, that Robert Wilson Stevenson, cousin of the late author, was arrested, and sent to gaol because he lacked bail, on a charge that he entered the United States, at Boston, in 1922. from Scotland, in violation of the immigration laws. He is forty-six years of age, unmarried, and worked at Santa Cruz as a gardener. London, Dec. 1. The Berlin correspondent of the Exchange Telegraph Agency states that Herr Marx is summoning the Reichstag immediately for the purpose of authorising a new emergency law. The Daily Chronicle’s correspondent in Jersey reports that the local Legislatures rejected a proposal to contribute £325,000 sterling annually to the British coffers. They also rejected a proposal to pay pensions and other charges now borne by the British taxpayers. Paris, Dec. 1.
