Marks touched a million, but recovered to 970,000. DAIRY PRODUCE. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the sth instant:— "Butter.—Market flrm but quiet. We quote New Zealand salted 154 s (148 s Danish 152 s (148 s Australian finest salted 148 s (1445), Australian finest unsalted 150 s (1445), Australian good average quality 138 s (130 s "Cheese.—Market firm with a good demand. .White -92 s (86s), colored 90s (84s), Canadian c.l.f. price 89s to 90s (835).” Last week’s quotations given in parentheses. BUTTER AND CHEESE. RISE IN VALUES. The High Commissioner, in his report to the Department of Agriculture, states that on account of the dockage strike prices have advanced and the butter market is firmer. The cheese market is firm, and spot supply short. Present quotations are - BUTTER. New Zealand. —Salted: July 7,154 s to 158 s per cwt. (Is 4%d to Is 5d per lb.) ; June 30, 146 s to 150 s . per cwt. (Is 3%d to Is 4d per 111.) ; June 23, 150 s to 154 s per cwt. (Is 4d to Is 4V’d per lb.). Unsalted: July 7,156 s to 160 s per cwt. (Is 4%d to Is s>4d per lb.; lune 30, 154s’to 156 s per cwt.
