Advices frum Jerusalem state tha' British gendarmerie, returning from escorting the High Commissioner (Sir Herbert Samuel), were ambushed on Sunday near the Syrian frontier. Three were killed and three wounded, the assailants, presumably, being Bedouin brigands. It is understood there is considerable arxiety in official circles regarding the safety of Sir Herbert Samuel, who is camping with an escort of native gendarmerie.
