TARANAKI LADIES’ ASSOCIATION. ANNUAL MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. • At Stratford, on Saturday, the executive of the Taranaki Ladies’ Hockey Association held their annual meeting, the president of the North Taranaki Association (Mr. J. W. Clotworthy) presiding over a good attendance of delegates. The following clubs were represented: Hawera (Hinemoa), Stratford High, Stratford Technical, Inglewood, Cardiff, New Plymouth Technical College, New Plymouth Technical College Old Girls, and New Plymouth Ladles’ Club. The annual report and balance sheet showed that the association had enjoyed a very successful season, particularly from a financial point of view. The credit balance of 17s Gd showed an increase over last season of £B. In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the chairman congratulated the secretary (Miss G. Moon) on the manner in which she had carried out duties. Miss G. Brooker, at present attending the Training College in Wellington, had consented to represent the Taranaki association on the New Zealand executive, and hockey enthusiasts could rest assured that she would always de her utmost to watch Taranaki’s interests. The election of officers resulted : Patron, Jfr. R. Masters, M.P.; president, Mr. E. Cat rah; vice-presidents, nil presidents pf,affiliated clubs and Mr. F. H. P. Rogers; secretary and treasurer, Miss Henry (Stratford). It was unanimously decided that a representative team should this year attend the New Zealand tournament. In proposing Mr. J. W. Clotworthy as manager for the touring teams, Mr. Rogers made eulogistic reference to his (Mr. Clotworthy’s) keenness in all matters pertaining to hockey. Delegates from the various centres endorsed Mr. Rogers’ remarks as to the desirability of appointing Mr. Clotworthy, apd on being put to the vote the motion was carried unanimously. The question of appointing a chaperone was left till a future meeting of delegates. Representatives from the different clubs were asked to impress upon their teams the urgent necessity of collecting funds for the teams’ expenses, as it was considered that a minimum sum of £2OO would be required. The tournament will probably be held in DunedinThe chairman asked that the executive go into the matter of deciding upon neutral grounds on which to play off inter-divisional matches at the conclusion of the fixtures. It was finally decided that Northern Division play Central at Inglewood, and play Southern at Stratford; and that Central and Southern meet at Eltliam.
