LEAGUE OF NATIONS UNION., By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Dec. I'2. A citizens’ meeting, organised by the Council of the Christian Congregations in favor of the League of Nations and of international amity, was held tonight and was largely attended. Bishop Julius presided. The principal speaker was Professor Henderson Pringle, of Dunedin. On the motion of Judge Ad-, ams the following motion was carried: “That in view of the danger to civilisation involved in the continuance of national feuds and animosities, and m view of the necessity for the cultivation of international goodwill, this meeting affirms the desirability of forming a branch of the League of Nations Union iii Christchurch. WANGANUI COMPETITIONS. t Wanganui, Dec. 12. The Wanganui competitions were Continued to-day. The chief winners were: Sacred solo, Mr. Craig (Wanganui) ; English song, Miss Eaton (Wanganui) ; character recital, Mr. Peyman (Wanganui); recital and musical accompaniment. Miss Cole (Hawera); vocal duet, Airs. Johns and Miss Warnock; skipping dance, Zelma Carroll (Wellington); clog dance, Thelma McKenzie (Wellington).
