The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date October 26 :—• Tallow. —We quote present spot values for the following descriptions:—Fine unutton £2 9s 6d per cWt., good beef £2 7s per cwt., mixed £2 per cwt. Limited demand. New Zealand Frozen Meat.—Lamb prices ur-Changed (last quotation, 7 7-8 d per lb. average). Ewe prices unchanged (last quotation, light 4(&d per lb., heavy 4d per lb.). Beef prices unchanged (last quotation, OX, hinds• 5%d per lb., fores 5%d per lb.; cow, hinds 4d per lb., fores per lb.). Wether and Ifta Men ewe, light 5%d per lb., heavy 4 5-’Bd per lb. Market weak. POULTRY MARKET. Messrs. L. A. Nolan and Co. report prices as follow at yesterday’s sale: Hens 3s 6d to 5s 2d, cockerels 3s 7d to 5s 2d, ducks 4s 6d, ; ducklings 2s 3d to 2s 4d, chickens 6d to Bd. Webster Bros, report the following prices at yesterday’s sales: Hens 4s 2d to ss, pullets 5s 3d td 7s 6d, cockerels 4s 9d to 5s 3d. ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. BETTER SALE FOR STORE CATTLE AND SHEEP. Christchurch, October 26. At the Addington market to-day there weae average yardings. Fat beef was the only section in over supply, and values consequently eased slightly. Mutton sold better, and store cattle and sheep met a more spirited demana.

Store Sheep.—The smallest entry for some years, only about a dozen pens being sent forward. Good sheep were in demand, but poor sorts were neglected. Four, 6, and 8tooth halfbred wethers realised 13s, good 8tooth wethers 14s 9d, 4,6, and 8-tooth threequarter bred wethers 14s 2d, inferior ewe hoggets IDs 2d, 6-tooth ewes and lambs 12s lOd.

Spring Lambs. —A good sale. Prime lambs 2Ss to 335, medium 25s to 27s Bd, small 22s 3d to 24s 9d.

Fat Sheep.—The entry included a lot of South Canterbury and Otago sheep of good quality. Values were up by Is to Is 6d per bead all round, the market closing firmly. Extra prime wethers 29s Gd to 335, prime 25s 3d to 28s fid, medium 21s 3d to 24s 9d, light and unfinished 17s to 20s 6d, eytra prime eWes 25s lOd, prime 20s 9d to 24s 6d, inedium 28s 3d to 20s 6d, light and unfinished las lid to 13s, extra prime hoggets 275, prime 20s to 235, ordinary 13S to 19s Gd.

Fat Cattle.—A big yarding of 320 head, and a further easing in prices. A consignment of nine steers from the Wairarapa made £l6 to £lB ss, topping the market. Prime beef was worth 35s to 37s 6d per 1001 b, secondary beef 27s fid to 32s 6d. Extra prime steers £lB ss, prime £l3 to £l6 10s, medium £lO to £l2 15s, light and unfinished £G 10s to £9 15s, extra prime heifers £l5 2s 6d, prime £8 12s Gd to £l3 2s 6d, ordinary £6 15s to £8 10s, prime cowft £7 10s to £ll ss, ordinary £5 to £7 ss.

Dairy Cattle.—A large yarding of medium quality. Cows in milk were in demand. Extra good second and third calvers £l7 to £2l, good £l2 to £l6 Ids, fajr £7 10s to £l2, fresh quality second calvers, average £ll. cows in milk £3 10s to £9, inferior aged cows £1 to £3 10s. good springing heifers £l2 to £lB 10s, medium £9 to £ll 10s.

Store cattle.—A fairly large yarding. Steers were cheaper. Good cows and heifers were io demand. Three-year-old steers £4 6s, two-year-old steers £3 2s 6d, yearling steers £lO to £l3, two-year-old heifers £4 to £4 9s, yearlings £1 15s to £2 ss, good cows £2 10s to £3 10s.

Ve&lers.—Runners to £5 ss, good vealers £3 7s 6d to £4, medium £2 5s to £3 ss, snlall calves 7s 6d to £1 17s Gd.

Fat Pigs.—On account of big yarding valne.-> etfsod towards the finish. Choppers £3 to £5, light baeoners £3 15s to £4 10s, heavy £4 15s to £5 5s (average price per lb. 7%d), light porkers 50s to 575, heavy 65s to 72s (average price 9d to 10%d per lb.). Store Pigs.—A fair demand. Medium stores £2 to £2 12s, small £1 10s to £1 18a, good weaners 20s to 245. NEW PLYMOUTH HAYMARKET. Messrs. Newton King, Ltd., report selling at the New Plymouth haymarket yesterday store pigs from 25s up to £2 2s 6d and slips from ISV to 23s fid. Heifer calves brought up to 14s Gd, and a Shetland pony was sold for £B. LAMASON’S REPORT. Last Saturday we had a very successful sale of poultry and various lines, of furniture and sundries. Hens, ducks and hens with chic’- ns. yrere in good demand, prices being most satisfactory. Quotations are as follow: Ducks 3s 6d to 4s 6d, hens 28 6d to 3s 6d. others 4s to ss, len and chickens 20s, 2Zb, horse £B, wheat Ils, mixed corn Bs.
