Grant Hervey, editor of the Mildura Sun, was tarred and feathered from head to foot by 20 men for publishing a statement alleging that Itegaris, a pi eminent Mildura personage, was going bankrupt. WHEAT POOL FINANCE. Sydney, Oct. 26. In the Assembly Mr. Lang read a cable from the Agent-General denying that Lord Inchcape was in any way associated with the financing of the wheat pool. IRONMOULDERS’ WAGES. Sydney, Oct. 26. The secretary of the Ironmoutders’ Union has announced that employees’ wages at Hoskins’ workshops have been reduced three shillings in accordance with the decision of the Board of Trade. The various iron trades unions discussed a suggestion to strike, and decided to approach the court to proceed against Hoskins for breach of the Act. A FATAL EXPLOSION. Sydney, Oct. 26. Three men were killed at the Hume reservoir, near Albury. A huge steam excavating shovel unearthed a bag of blasting powder, which exploded, hurling the men in all directions. George Geehrig, George Pearce and William Wakefield were killed.
