SOME IMPORTANT REMITS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The conference of delegates of school committees’ associations concluded to-day. Remits were passed reaffirming the necessity for free school books, also standardised books for all schools; the appointment of full-time caretakers to ensure cleanliness in schools, in view of the prevalence of epidemics; that forty be the maximum of pupils in any class; that free and compulsory medical and dental treatment be provided by the State for all children attending State schools. •

Officers were elected as follows: President: Mr. A. Peverill (Christchurch); vicepresidents, Messrs. J. K. Hornblow (Foxton), S. G. Smith, M.P. (Taranaki), R. H. Potter (Auckland), W. H. Steele (Otago); secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. J. White (Wellington) ; committee, Mrs. Snow (Wellington), Messrs. H. C. Legrange (Manawatu), E. Eyre (Wellington), T. K. Sidey, M.P. (Otago), H. Atmore, M. P. (Nelson), J. W. Henderson (Wairarapa), and W. Bruce (Wanganui).
