INGLEWOOD.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) September 30. At St. Andrew’s Church, Inglewood, on Thursday. Cathlcen Harriett, daughter of Mr. 11. Horner, of Inglewood, and William Stirling, son of Mrs. W. Clarke, of' Upper Hutt, were married by the Rev. Stanton. The bride looked charmling in a mole gaberdine costume, with, saxe blue trimming, and carrying a ; beautiful bouquet of pink carnations and roses, the work and gift of Mrs. G. TobUs, of Waitoitoi, was accompanied by Miss B. Esse, very becomingly arrayed in heliotrope and primrose costume with bouquet to match. Miss Horner had from very early childhood been a member of St. Andrew’s choir, so it was only fitting that the service should be full choral. Mr. Horner gave his daughter away and Mr. W. Davis, of Kaimata, as groomsman, attended Mr. Clarke. At the conclusion of the service the wedding party left the church to the strains of the Wedding March, played by Miss Hamerton, St. Andrew’s organist, and met again at the Parish Hal), where they were regaled with all kinds of good things in the hall, which had, for the time being, been transformed into a drawing-room by the skill and kindness of bride’s many friends. Congratulations, good wishes and farewells were showered on the young couple as they left by motor to spend a short holi ’ay in New Plymouth. The Beautifying Society’s working bee in the sports reserve op Thursday was attended *by Mesdames Burnip, Evans, W. J. Smith, M. Sutherland and Miss Stevens as ‘audience, encouragers, and bearers of refreshment, while Messrs. F. Brown, J. Burnip, W. A. Eager, E. Martzic, W. J. Smith, R. Stevens, and J. Sutherland endeavored to earn their approval by judicious use of saws and axes. A pleasant time was spent and a good deal of work was done while during the interval devoted to refreshment details for guidance of future work were profitably discussed.
