ARBITRATION COURT.
THE SHEARERS’ DISPUTE. By Telegranh.—Press Association. Wellington, August 25. The demands of the New Zealand Shearers and Shed-hands’ Union for a Revision of wages and working conditions ate being considered by the Arbitration Court to-day. The matters in dispute have already been partially considered by the court fit Dunedin and Christchurch, but no pronouncement has yet been made. As the result of the present deliberations, however, the court will give a decision in the form of a Dominion award. Mr. Grayndler, for the union, said at tlie most, and this for only two years, Shearers only received 33 per cent, increase on the 1908 figures, while the emp’r yer< ’income increased by over JOO per cent, on an average, and this While the cost of living had jumped Somewhere near 80 per cent. The Court reserved its decision.
