EVIDENCE OF A TRAGEDY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 12, 5.5 p.m. London, June 11. Karl Jtackel, who arrived at Hull three weeks ago, has been arrested. He drifted across the North Sea from Hamburg in a two-masted sailer uame,d the Anne, in which the cargo had shifted, rendering navigation impossible. Jackel asserted that he sailed the Anne singlehanded, but the German authorities state that he sailed with Anderson (the owner) and Semnelback (a seaman), both of whom have disappeared.—Aus.N.Z.
