A FAMOUS “HOAXER”
DEATH 01? LOUIS DR ROUGEMONT. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright London, June 10. The death occurred in the Kensington Infirmary of the famous “hoaxer” Louis An Rougemont. De Rougemont created notoriety some years ago by lecturing before an English scientific body on his alleged extraordinary adventures in Northern Australia. His stories were believed at the; time, but were subsequently discredited. Later he contributed a series of “thrillers” to the Wide World Magazine He went to Australia for the purpose of lecturing on his “adventures”, but waa accorded a hostile reception, which compelled him to cancel his engagements.
