Kirkwood (Australia) did 35 over the Queen’s course, and 72 over the King's course, including an extra stroke owing to the marker’s error. The results of tte qualifying fifty-four holes are:— Ray 212 Havers 213 Hutchinson (America) 213 O'ckenden 214 Kirkwood 217 Vardon 217 Renoug 21S Two other Americans; Hagen and French, also Mitchell, qualified. Duncan failed to qualify. Kirkwood is feeling confident. His wrist is improving, and is expected to bo all right tomorrow, when he plays Vardon.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. LADIES’ INTER-CLUB MATCH. NEW PLYMOUTH v. HAWERA. A ladies’ inter-club match between teams rep resenting the New Plymouth and Hawera Clubs was played nt Hawera yesterday, both the morning and afternoon games ending al) square. The' New Plymouth visitors were met on arrival at Hawera and motored to the links, where they spent an enjoyable day, being hospitably entertained by the Hawera ladies. A four-ball match was played in the morning and singles in the afterhoon over nine holes. In the following details New Plymouth players are mentioned first: — FOUR-BALL MATCH.
