AGRICULTURE IN BRITAIN.
DE-CONTROL DECIDED ON. GUARANTEES WITHDRAWN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 8, 5.5 p.m. London, June 7. The Daily Express states Cabinet has decided to de-control agriculture, both with reference to guaranteed prices to farmers and wages. The decision has caused a sensation amongst masters and men. who declare it is a breach of faith, which will result in chaos and turmoil. It is believed the Wages Board will be permitted to continue for a sufficient time to permit the necessary adjustments, but the guarantee for wheat and oats will disappear when the present crops are harvested. The decision is attributed to tho financial crisis, and has been precipitated by the coal crisis.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
