_ THE GERMANS ARRIVE. IT * NO DEMONSTRATION MADE. DISCUSSION OF THEIR CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received March 1, 5.5 p.m. London, Feb. 28. Herr von Simons, German Minister for Foreign Affairs, and head of the German delegation to the Allies’ Conference, and twenty members of the delegation, arrived at Victoria station. A large crowd wae present, but no demonstration took place. The Supreme Council will meet the Germans to-morrow morning and hear Herr von Simons’ statement, which the Allies will consider during the afternoon. Mr. Lloyd George will make a statement on Wednesday.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Received March 1, 8.5 p.m. London, March 1. Herr von Simons was surprised to hear of to-day’s engagements. He says he wanted to get to bed early, but will be obliged to work most of the night in order to have his statement ready. He thought he had until Wednesday. — Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn. It is understood that, as the reSult of the week-end discussions at Chequers Court and information from Lord D’Abernon, British Ambassador in Berlin, regarding Germany’s position, the Allies will adopt a very firm attitude at the Conference and will not grant Germany any considerable concessions. GERMAN LABOR UNREPRESENTED. Berlin, Feb. 28. No Labor man accompanies the delegation to London, as originaHy planned, in order to indicate the readiness of the working classes to assist in rebuilding the devastated countries.
