TARANAKI TOURNAMENT. OPENING TO-DAY. Th© Taranaki lawn tennis tournament will be opened on the New Plymouth Club’s courts to-day, play commencing at 9 a.m. The first matches are:— Men’s Championship Singles.—<3. Dickie v. T Simpson. Men’s Championship Doubles.—L. Bosworth and R. Shipton v. N. and E. Foden. Combined Championship Doubles.—Pownall and Miss Higgins v. Kururangl and Miss Whittington. Ladies’ Handicap Singles,—Miss McCormick v Miss Rundle; Miss Macfarlane v. Miss Walker; Miss Payton v. Miss Rollo; Miss Carruth v. Miss Clarke. Men’s Handicap Doubles.—Clark and Griffiths v.
